Seeking a Medium Mentor for Guidance and Clarity

Please help me make sense of this writing platform madness.

Conflicting Medium advice articles will send a newbie writer into a downward spiral of uncertainty. Compare any two dos and don’ts articles and you’ll find more disagreements than a divorce proceeding. So how do we attempt to make sense of it all?

I believe a writer who is new to Medium could best receive unencumbered advice directly from an established writer on the platform. The expertise of the mentor could demonstrate real-world insight, saving the mentee time and sanity. In a world of dubiety, a little bit of clarity can go a long way.

What I’m Seeking/My Expectations:

Established Medium Writer

The mentor should be of hardy Medium writing stock. They’ve been at it a few years and know the trials and tribulations. In testing different theories, they’ve been able to compile their vision for success on Medium.

Two-Way Street, not One-Way

The mentorship relationship should provide growth opportunities for both parties. It should be symbiotic. A mutually beneficial affiliation allows for openness and transparency. To be a mentor, you should be able to guide the new writer without just giving away all the answers. The relationship…
