How to Use Your Love Language to Love Yourself
Love yourself the same way you want others to love you.
Dr. Gary Chapman, the creator of the theory of Love Languages, believes everyone has a type of love that they respond to in a more meaningful way. Recognizing and understanding each other’s love language can benefit you and your significant other in feeling loved.
But this theory can also be applied to self-love. As well as explaining each type, I’ve also suggested some ways you might be able to utilize your love language to love yourself.
Gifts
A person who considers receiving gifts as their love language appreciates the connection of acquiring something meaningful. In this context, gifts can be both tangible and intangible, but it should mean something to them.
Ways to Love Yourself
- Pick up a bouquet the next time you go to the grocery store
- Grab a fancy coffee on Friday for surviving the week
- Invest in yourself — take a class or watch a video to learn something you’ve always wanted to
